This Week:
- in language arts we worked on paragraphs and how to write paragraphs. We also continued reading our novel Harry Potter. We used the novel to help us learn and practice characters traits this week. We looked at character traits are and how they can be inferred by a character's actions, thoughts, feelings and dialogue. We also looked at text structure and how writers structure a text to make it easier for us to understand.
- we also looked at possessive nouns in word work and what the main idea of a paragraph or text is.
- in math we continued our practice of what factors, multiples, prime and composite numbers are. So of us are really struggling because we are not familiar with our multiplication basic facts. Most of us also have some finish up work to do for Monday. Look for the starred pages in our work booklet.
- in science we talked about the sun and the importance of the sun for earth's systems. We also talked about why we have seasons.
- with our buddies this week we made penguins. We read the book Penguinaut and then created some penguins out of clay. We still need to paint them but they look great!

The Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) replaced the privacy section of the FOIP Act. POPA obligates schools to notify parents when their child’s personal information is entered into automated systems. When teachers use digital tools or applications that require sharing student personal information with a third-party provider, they must inform parents about:
- The name of the software being used,
- The specific information that will be shared, and
- How the tool supports student learning in the classroom.
