  This Week: - in language arts we finished our novel Harry Potter. We also kept working on our other novel Tales of a Fourth Nothing. In poetry we started looking for a poem that we can recite. - in science we continued learning about animal structures. We looked at different animal eyes and how they use them to find food, see their surroundings and survive. We created macro animal eyes and also dragon eyes out of clay to go along with the conclusion of our fantasy novel.  - in social studies we started learning about Confederation and the reasons that led to people wanting to unite to form Canada. - to catch up in math we have been working on a couple of things: decimals and division. We looked at how we can compare and order decimals and how we can divide numbers. Next Week: - it's a full week! - we have swimming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - library is Tuesday - please return any zoo field trip forms or pizza lunch forms this week.   This Week: - in language arts we worked on homophones for our word work time. We also started a new novel study- Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We are going to explain some connections and author's intent through our reading - in math we started looking at decimals and also multi-digit multiplication - in social studies we did a recap of the formation of Canada so far up to the great migrations of the 1800s - in science we continued working on animal and plant structures and their functions. We planted marigolds to observe and made some flowers out of clay with our buddies today.  Next Week: - library on Tuesday - no school on Friday May 15 and Monday May 18
