This week:  - we had some caroling and pj day this week - we finished up our equations math unit - we talked about waste in science and different types of waste - we also finished up our research on the early French settlements in Canada Finish Up:   - procedural writing good copy and biographies are due when we get back I sent home a little gift for your child today- hopefully they can use it to help them practice their basic facts over the break! Have a great break and we will see everyone in the new year- January 5!

  This Week: - in language arts we are finishing up our procedural writing and biographies. We created small bobblehead figures to go along with the biographies we were reading.  - in science we talked about earth's spheres interactions and human impact on earth's systems. We completed some diagrams and posters to show our learning - in social studies we started to learn about the first settlements in Canada and why the explorers stayed and kept coming to Canada. - in math we worked on algebra and equations. We talked about how to solve for a variable in an equation and how to use the opposite operation when solving for a variable. Next Week: - Tuesday and Thursday carolling  - Thursday library- please return all books! - Friday PJ Day (no stuffies please) Finish Up: - science human impact and earth's sphere's interactions posters - Natural Resources map

  This Week: - in language arts we started looking biographies and autobiographies. We talked about how biographies and autobiographies are structured in sequence and time lines. We also looked at how portraits and self-portraits can be a form of biographies. We looked at a bunch of portraits and tried to use the information in the picture to sequence the artwork in a timeline. We also have chosen a biography book to read and reserach. Ask me who I chose! - in math we are learning about equations and algebra. - in science, are finishing up our study of earth's spheres. This week we focused on how the sphere's interact and work together.  - in social studies we learned about natural resources and how some of the new people exploring Canada came for the resources here.  Next Week: - library is Tuesday- please return any books that are at home - Thursday is Wear green and red day Finish up - natural resources Canada map
